The bi-plane 3d Wood jigsaw puzzle

Well this is the first post of many and i plan to post a new model every week or so with a free dxf wood plan for the project in our free downloads section. The bi-plane wood jigsaw puzzle is the first model that i am showing and to be honest i just found it in one of my drawers and thought that if i had to start somewhere, this would give me the motivation to do it!

The first thing that we need to do was to transform the the sketch into lines with photoshop so that i can import it into the Badog CAM interface. Here i just drew it by hand then transfered it with a piece of tracing paper. if you use these drawings be sure to check the size of the wings and the pieces then 2 uploaded pland are of a different scale.

Once all the pieces were drawn i resized the image to a square and imported into Badog CAM software which can be found on their website for free. you just have to ask for a license by email or on threir help line. I got it free with my machine anyway and i find it to be easy to use and quicker than solidworks or autocad for wood plans or wood puzzle drawings.

after i traced each line i sent the information to my Badog X3 and it started to cut the pieces automatically. if you dont have a cnc then obviously this step would be with a jigsaw or a wood saw that was fine enough to take th econtours easily

Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
